Special minifigures released for International Women’s Day

People everywhere are celebrating International Women’s Day today, and the LEGO world is no exception. Custom minifigure creators minifigs.me have created a special line of five inspirational women in tiny LEGO form to pay tribute to their huge contributions to the world we live in.

The minifigures include detailed recreations of pilot extraordinaire Amelia Earhart, Suffragette leader Emmeline Pankhurst, scientist Rosalind Franklin, artist Frida Kahlo and Nobel Prize winning female education activist Malala Yousafzai. All have been made with delightful attention to detail and each has a quotation from their real life counterpart printed across their back.

The set is well timed. Recently LEGO announced that they will be producing a set based on prominent women in NASA – a LEGO ‘Ideas’ project that minifigs.me provided specially printed parts for.

Caroline Savage, Director at minifigs.me said: “International Women’s Day is always a great opportunity for us to celebrate a few of the creative, adventurous, inquisitive, brave and determined women out there. This year, we’ve picked a group of women who represent each of these traits perfectly. I want my daughters to play with toys that show the wild and wonderful things they could achieve, so we made some.” The custom-created minifigures are available from minifigs.me/womensday and join a larger cast of female role models on the site.
